The QRO20 is a low-cost, LiPo-powered software-defined transceiver for 20 meters, engineered to punch far above its weight for your next POTA or SOTA activation.
The QRO20 is a 320 watt, LiPo battery-powered, low cost 20 meter software-defined radio that uses polar modulation to efficiently deliver up to 320 watts of peak effective power from a rig you can carry up a mountain.
No linear amplifier, no generator, no compromise. Just a compact, efficient transceiver built to put out a real signal from wherever you happen to be standing.
Delivers up to 320 watts of peak effective power with high efficiency, so a LiPo pack can last through a full park activation.
Controlled Envelope SSB shapes your audio for maximum average power and punch through the noise — without splattering your neighbors.
Built-in tuner sweeps and matches your wire or whip automatically, so you spend less time fiddling and more time making contacts.
A receiver designed to stay quiet and linear next to strong signals, so weak stations don't get buried on a crowded band.
Runs directly from common RC LiPo packs via XT60 — light, rechargeable, and easy to source anywhere hobby batteries are sold.
Real-time spectrum, waterfall, VSWR, and Smith chart antenna impedance — all from a purpose-built desktop control app.
The QRO20 pairs with a dedicated control application that puts everything on one screen: frequency, power, VSWR sweep, live antenna impedance on a Smith chart, and a real-time spectrum and waterfall display — all updating as you operate.
Watch band activity and your own signal in real time.
See your match across the band before you transmit.
Antenna impedance plotted live as the tuner works.
Battery voltage and RF output tracked every block.
Polar modulation and CESSB are only worth using if the result is spectrally clean. This two-tone sweep shows the QRO20's transmit chain holding intermodulation products well down — a strong, efficient signal that stays inside its lane on the band.
The black anodized, finned enclosure carries the QRO20 mark etched straight into the lid — a clean, permanent finish that won't rub off in a pack or peel in the sun.
Every watt has to go somewhere. The QRO20's power stage is built around a finned aluminum enclosure that doubles as the heatsink, with forced-air cooling backing it up when you're running long transmissions at full power.
It's a from-scratch design — RF power amplifier, relays, and control electronics all packed into a case small enough to fit in a backpack pocket next to your battery.
A type-N antenna connector with UHF SO-239 adapter and an XT60 LiPo input, milled into a brushed aluminum end plate.
USB connection to PC, indicator LED, and a 6-32 ground connection, alongside ventilation slots that keep the QRO20 running cool.
Follow the build, hear the transmitted audio, and see the QRO20 out on an actual activation.
